This IS 2009, Right?

For the first post of this new offshoot of the Pendragon Saga, I have decided to go whole-hog and bring to light one of the most egregious examples of despicable behavior being conducted under the auspices of religious hypocrisy and intolerance. This is happening mostly on the African continent, but I can assure you that this kind of crap can easily be insinuated into our own society, and already has, to some degree, thanks to ex-vice-presidential-candidate Sarah Palin's pastor, imported from, you guessed it, AFRICA.

The secondary thing that pisses me off about this is the idea that being a witch is anything for anybody to get all upset about. The stereotypical idea of a witch being some sort of ugly old hag that casts evil spells on people and has some sort of communion with "the devil" is nothing but horseshit to begin with. Contemporary witches are nothing more than men or women who practice the Earth/Goddess based religion known as Wicca, and they usually only refer to themselves likewise if they actively practice magic (which is simply OUR version of prayer) or are High Priest/Priestesses of their respective covens. Wiccans do not even believe in the Christian devil and would have no inclination to serve him if they did. Our religion is one of respect for life, freedom of love, peace, and empowerment. So, no, don't call ME a witch and think you are insulting me, for if you do, all you are doing is displaying your own ignorance.

No, of course not, I do NOT try and stamp all Christians as homicidal maniacs bent on hunting down witches, but I DO fault any and ALL so-called worshipers of Christ who do not publicly disown this recycled sort of genocide, and LOUDLY.


Also, I have another video you might find hilarious that lampoons those good god-fearing citizens involved in the "defense of marriage" legislative movements all over the country. Defense of WHAT did you say? You know, I get so tired of these bigots using such oxymorish axioms to describe efforts that have nothing to do with defending any kind of institution, but rather are efforts to find yet one more reason to separate out and discriminate against another class of people.




The sad fact of society is the reality that it only exists to protect us from one another, and does a poor job at that. You know that things are going to shit in your own country when your leaders start pointing angry fingers at some OTHER country, and you look, and you wonder what the big deal is. That is ONE major thing that conservatives are good at; shifting the blame for the results of their own oppressions in an attempt to divert our attention from the REAL source of our problems. The political party which has tried to claim ownership of "family values" in this country is the very same party which promotes legislations which cause the most harm to families, both conventional AND nonconformist. So, our government seems to be in perpetual conflict with itself; half trying to protect us from the other half, with most of us stuck in the middle. Why? I just don't understand…….

Thus my squeaky wheel makes a noise, and will continue to do so till that day they either shut me up or shut me down. Till then, all I can hope is that those who serve witness to these horrors understand that denying them or making up excuses for them serves no purpose other than to bring those horrors to YOUR doorstep, sooner or later.

When I gained a new audience that comprised members of my long-lost family, it immediately began to occur to me that many of them, based on their social/political/religious creeds, might not be all that comfortable visiting my blog only to be confronted with many of my views which might not meld very well with theirs, even to the point that they might feel judged or challenged for those closely-held beliefs. Now, I am NOT a person who feels that his own personal beliefs need be censored for ANYBODY's comfort, but then again, I never considered it necessary to get "in their face" with them either. I figure if having to chase evangelicals of all stripes off my porch is a personal irritant, then I can emphasize with any one of my cousins thinking the same about people of MY stripe (even tho you will rarely find a pagan who finds it necessary to proselytize). Thus, in order to show SOME measure of respect, at least, I have decided to move the Political/Spiritual aspect of my musings over to THIS space, where those of like or tolerant mind can come to visit if they so choose, without having to think they need to listen to my rants which might be offensive to them in one fashion or another when they visit us here at Pendragon Hold. Again, I am NOT giving into self-censorship out of any obligation, simply my desire to be more welcoming to those relations of mine who tread a different path then mine. So, welcome to this first edition of "Full Moon". I hope it never gets to hot for you.....hehe.
